I'm glad to hear that ya'll are enjoying your new home. It sounds like a great blessing.

Now to your question. Actually, the Muslims believe that we are the one's warping history by accepting a Jewish retelling of the story. The Muslims claim that Ishmael is actually the favored child and not Isaac. This helps to explain their hatred for the Jews. And were their history to be true, Jesus would end up being nothing other than simply a prophet which they do believe but not the Son of God. Thus, Ishmael and his descendants are the actual inheritors of the Promised Land and not the Jews. By the way, Ishmael is considered to be the father of the Arabs. Notice now. Not all Muslims are Arabs. There are converts to Islam from other nations. However, the Arabs are the descendants of Ishmael. Hope this helps. I am going to place a link here that may help. You'll have to copy and paste since I have not yet figured out how to embed a clickable link yet.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IshmaelLukehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14616108342223765777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3383690571876717897.post-54945718662411149732007-12-28T07:58:00.000-06:002007-12-28T07:58:00.000-06:00Bro. I guess my question is are the Muslims trying to mimic Christianity or are they getting the story confused, ie. Ishmael and Issac? Just Curious. By the way, it was good to talk to you the other day.

MarcAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3383690571876717897.post-70091008816750814652007-12-27T21:50:00.000-06:002007-12-27T21:50:00.000-06:00It seems to me mr/mrs anonymous that the feast you...It seems to me mr/mrs anonymous that the feast you have stumbled upon is an islamic feast and not a jewish feast. I'll definitely have to google it and get back to you but I'm pretty confident that it is not a jewish holiday.Lukehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14616108342223765777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3383690571876717897.post-71802493055288206782007-12-27T08:35:00.000-06:002007-12-27T08:35:00.000-06:00Bro. There is a part in the book that talks about the planning process and mentioned the last day of Eid ul Adha, the three day Feast of Sacrifice that commemorates Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael to Allah. I thoght that he was going to sacrifice Issac. Didn't think that he was going to sacrifice Ishmael (Is that a translation of Issac or his brother) Strange.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3383690571876717897.post-13978344657607980052007-12-25T11:31:00.000-06:002007-12-25T11:31:00.000-06:00LukeAnd a Very Awe-filled Christmas to you and you...Luke

And a Very Awe-filled Christmas to you and yours.

With that, I am...

Peter

p.s.
