To the readers of this blog, are there any particular issues that you personally would like to see addressed? Or perhaps, any questions that you would like a different perspective on?
That being said, a thought for today. Last night as you lay sleeping, Jesus was awake. Yesterday, as you grew hungry for your supper, Jesus was not growing hungry. Yesterday, as you anxiously awaited news whether for good or bad, Jesus was not anxious. Yesterday, as you sat puzzled and confused over your situation, Jesus was neither puzzled or confused. The tears that stained your pillow or your prayer place, Jesus watched.
Not a sparrow can fall to the ground without the knowledge of its Creator. "Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows." Matthew 10:31 Take comfort in the fact that you are under the ever watchful eye of your Savior and that He will provide all that you need if you will seek His kingdom first. Matthew 10:33.
Have a blessed and grace-filled weekend...

Hi! Marc and I were actually talking about this yesterday afternoon and then it was in our reading this a.m. Titus 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, "keepers at home", good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. So is it that a wife is not to work if it interferes with her job at home or is it that she shouldn't work at all. Also, Marc and I were talking and it seems that when women went into the workplace that they started this wife/mom stuff isn't valuable or whatever. You know what I'm saying? I hope I am making myself clear. Anyway, what is your take on it?
Hey Kimmy and Marc,
Before I pontificate on your question, can I instead over a passage of Scripture for you to read and then I respond a little later. I would like to offer up Proverbs 21:10-EOC. It really does answer your question from my point of view but I am willing to "spell-out" my particular view on this. But I really would like your indulgence to ask you to read the Proverbs passage first, and then let me respond.
Luke
"over" was supposed to be "offer".
Seeking ut the pleasures of the world? I'll pass it on to Marc also.
Kim,
I am sitting here embarrassed and with egg on my face. I am sorry but I put in the wrong Proverb. It should have been chapter 31. I sincerely apologize for the mistake. Anyways, I am going to go read chapter 21 as well and see what I missed.
Luke
OK. I know Prov. 31 and she did work in the home and provided for her family and servants also, am I correct? Not just everyday taking care of children work but work as in fields and such. Don't worry about the wrong chapt. :)
Kim,
Okay, now that we are on the same page.
You said, "So is it that a wife is not to work if it interferes with her job at home or is it that she shouldn't work at all."
In my opinion, she should not work outside the home if it keeps her from taking care of what is inside the home. So many times today, from my experience, too many women work outside the home in order to:
1. Seek their "OWN" career
2. Pursue the things of the world to the neglect of her children or husband
3. Work outside the home just because they think "home-maker" is too menial.
As far as wife/mom stuff not being valuable, you cannot put a price tag on children that are raised to respect others and the possessions of others AND to pursue Jesus and His will for their lives. All too often, women value the world, its possessions, its accolades as something greater than obedience to and finding fulfillment in the things that God would have them do.
Feel free to challenge or question me if I have not answered you clearly enough.

That's pretty much what we were saying. Weird how we got on the topic but leave it to us. Thanks for your input. We have a thousand more questions that run through our mind as always. I had remembered a sermon on this topic you had preached on a Mother's Day and loved it. I wonder how those mom's that work and take care of their husband and little children do it but I'm sure somewhere along the line something falls through.
Kim,
You wrote, "but I'm sure somewhere along the line something falls through".
That is ENTIRELY the point. For the wife and mother who is wanting to hear "well done", letting the children raise themselves, letting a culturally fallen daycare raise the children, letting the needs of the husband and children go unmet are not the proper paths to such blessing from the Lord. And by the way, that goes for the husbands/fathers as well. If you are not meeting their needs, I can guarantee you that Satan will put someone in their path who will be more than happy to do that, and the end will be destruction.
Luke
I think that was Satan's intent when the feminist movement came about and it worked! I know God knew what He was doing when I was so indecisive in college as to what to do for a degree. My heart was always to be a wife and mother. Finally I chose Family and Consumer Science and it has served it's purpose well :). I don't regret one minute being a wife and mom.
Here is one that I thought you would find interesting. Our washer went out and Marc was working on it but it was late so while I put the kids to bed he went to the laundry mat on base. (He's so wonderful!) Anyway, he was talking to a Master Sgt. there and the MSGT was telling him different jobs to do after CPT Course and he said that there is a thing starting up called Joint something and it is the Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines, etc all working together. He told Marc to work into getting into one of those and then he can get out and work for the Gvt. in a high ranking G level job. Could that be part of the one world gov't the Bible is talking about? Not saying it it but really had us wondering....
Heard from Laurie yesterday and she sent pics. :)
Kim,
It is really a blessing to be able to look back over one's life and see all the ways that God was working and is continuing to work.
Sounds interesting, the new joint military effort. Since I am sure the information is limited, it may be to early to ask but would such a job for Marc mean ya'll could plant somewhere or would you still be seeing the world? Maybe you would even end up in D.C. Well, I had better stop before my imagination runs away with me.
Ya'll have a blessed day and enjoy being a wife and mother. Your husband and children are blessed.
