PROVERBS 17:14

The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.

It is kind of like trying to eat "just one" cookie. When I was little, we used to get our slingshots and look for wasp nests. Needless to say, some things you just have to experience to understand when we say, you just shouldn't go around messin' with certain things.

Blog land is kind of like that dammed up river or even the wasp nest. Some things/posts are just better left untouched. Otherwise, might I suggest that you either have your life jacket or some benadryl handy.

May God give us wisdom indeed to be a voice for righteousness and truth in cyberspace.

Luke

V,
Though I am always open to healthy discussion, such as is taking place on your blog on the sovereignty of God, I am not much in the way for heated exchanges. My hope for this website is still to offer hope, encouragement, instruction and yes, even a place of healthy discussion. I am glad that you "flit"(sp?) amongst the meadows here. I think all of us "small-timers" love to see when someone comments. Thanks for the encouragement and for stopping by.

Hello Luke,

Wow. After reading your comment at my blog, this goes hand-in-hand with what I mentioned at Mrs. V's blog. I am fed up with heated exchanges, point-provings, and diatribes.

You're welcome to comment at The RP anytime. I will be back.

Luke, I'm glad you like that discussion thread on the Sovereignty of God. I'm not taking into the questions and answers anyone's particular theology. I don't really have enough grasp on the various doctrines to discuss it from any debatable way. But I have truths that the Lord has shown me personally as I trust in His sovereignty that gives me what I need to serve Him and abide in Him. That's why I was interested in how folks saw the Lord's sovereign hand working in their lives right now. It's one thing to know about God's sovereignty, and adhere to some system of belief regarding it. It's quite another to be able to see Him working out something in one's own life. That's what excites me and feeds my soul. selahV

Luke,

Thank you, my Brother. You ever are fresh air either when I read your posts or comments.

The contentious atmosphere has a tendency to weigh one down...causing a heavy inner world to dominate.

May His peace be upon us all. With that, I am...

Tony,
Thanks for stopping by. As a pastor, I primarily view myself as chief feeder. I take the food, that God has placed out, and feed the sheep. I like healthy sheep. I prefer to let God mete out any chastising but know that I am not reluctant to reproving another, I am just not that fond of it. It always seems to come back and bite me on the...uh...gluteus maximus. Never the less, if you can feed here and be fed, give God the glory. If you come here expecting steak and potatoes and find oatmeal, blame me. Wishing you a great Lord's Day today. You know, the tomb is empty and Jesus is alive.

Peter,
As always, I am honored that you have read here and even posted. Seriously, it is an honor to me. I've been reading your latest post and as of yet, have been unable to find peace about posting in the midst of the mix. Perfect freedom from you but the Spirit hasn't granted "ME" the freedom. I appreciate the candidness of your life story in regards to your theological growth. In fact, I have even, for the most part, enjoyed the spirited exchange in the posts. The thing I learn most from reading your blog though is how to interact. I am not so much interested in exactly the "i's and t's" of what is said but how it is said. As of yet, I have not detected any anger on your part and that is what intrigues me the most. You are hit, submarined, attacked from the air and the likes and you still seem to exude a gentle although it be precise and ever challenging spirit.

May the Lord His people through your words this morning as well as through your blog during the week.

Blessings Peter
