SATAN'S WORST NIGHTMARE

Sounds kind of funny to type that title considering that Satan thrives on spreading fear wherever he goes. But have you ever imagined that there is something that just really makes Satan quake. And, this very act that makes him quake is that which he tries to drive away and prevent from taking place in the life of God's children. Once learned by the child of God, this very act has the spiritual power to exalt the Lord, encourage the believer and exile the deceiver. What is it you ask?

It is important that we know why "Lucifer" fell from heaven. Isaiah 14:12-17 and Ezekiel 28:11-19 From these texts, we learn that pride was his downfall. But what explicit attribute of pride was it that he exhibited. He, Lucifer/Satan, wanted to be worshiped above the LORD. And since he could not be worshiped, he sought to destroy and defile the true worship of the LORD. Thus, he set his sights on God's creation in order to deprive God from what He(God) desires and deserves. Satan wanted to deprive God of worship.

With that in mind, what is Satan's worst nightmare? Psalm 100 is the answer. It is the believer entering into the presence of the King of Kings with thanksgiving and praise, with joyful noise coming from the heart. The moment Satan gets you to the point that you cease to give praise and thanksgiving, he derives his pleasure and power. You see, it is not so much you that he is after, but God himself. You are a pawn in Satan's eyes, simply a means to an ends. He cares nothing for you or about you except that whatever you do, he does not want you worshiping God. So quit your griping and groaning and moaning and start thanking and praising God. How can one resist the devil? By becoming his worst nightmare. Become a child of thanksgiving and praise. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Let your heart speak of the mercies of the Lord. Let His praise ever be upon your lips.

Luke: what wonderful words of wisdom. Praising God chases satan away. Just as Paul and Silas praised God in prison, the earth quaked and they were released. thanks for sharing this. selahV

V,
There a whole lot of people whose prisons need shaking. That's exactly what I would like to see and I know that God would love to hear. The Gospel is good news not just for the lost, but it continues to be Good News for the Christian as well. I pray that Bob is growing stronger and that your health is remaining strong as you minister to him.

Dear Luke,

Such a timely post. God inhabits the praises of His people and exalts the praise of His saints.

May our Lord, in His sovereign freedom, rain down on us all we need to be His this day.

Grace, Luke. With that, I am...

Peter

As Michael Combs would say, "I'm drinkin from my saucer cause my cup is overflowed". We have too much to praise God for to be silent.

I'll try to make a post on VBS antics before next Tuesday. I know that is a long wait but we are chasing ankle biters all day long and I have so little time even to keep up with the Convention. As soon as I gain an open door, I'll post a VBS post.
